Sean Kehoe is the Lawson Tait Professor of Gynaecological Cancer at the University of Birmingham and a Senior Research Fellow at St. Peters College Oxford. He graduated from Trinity College Dublin and after obtaining his Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists came to the UK to pursue a career in Gynaecological Oncology. He undertook his gynaecological cancer training in Birmingham and was appointed a Senior Lecturer in Birmingham University . He was then elected the Foundation Professor of Gynaecological Cancer Oxford, where he founded the Oxford Gynaecological Cancer Centre in 2005. He has published over 130 papers/chapters, and was CI for CHORUS an MRC trial on timing of surgery in ovarian cancer. He is the past President of the British Gynaecological Cancer Society, and Council of the RCOG and a Trustee and Medical Director to OVACOME, a charity for ovarian cancer. He is also a panel member of Jo’s Trust a charity for cervical cancer. He main research interests are ovarian cancer, clinical trials, evidence-based medicine and pre-malignant conditions of the lower genital tract.
